2002 OOBR Awards

"Off-Off-Broadway -- No Limits!!"

***Venue Change***

This year's OOBR Awards were to be held at the Union Square Theatre. No more! As a result of the show SURVIVING GRACE's closing, the Awards are going to the Minetta Lane Theatre, 18 Minetta Lane. If you are a producer of a show that is winning an award, please let all your people know!

Honorees

The following productions are being honored with OOBR Awards. Follow the links for exhaustive lists of the personnel who put on each production.

The awards are scheduled to be held at the Minetta Lane Theatre, 18 Minetta Lane near the W. 4th St. station on Sixth Ave., on Monday, June 24 at 7 p.m. Admission is $20 (at the door; no credit cards, please!). In addition to the awards ceremony, there will be entertainment and refreshments.

If you were involved in one of these shows and want to come to the awards, please contact your producer and ask to be added to the number of reservations for that group. If you are no longer in touch with the producer (or if you just want to come to the awards), call (212) 691-2014 and leave your name, company affiliation if any, and the number of people in your party.

Some of the awards are "Favorite Show" awards, given by reviewers in recognition of their favorite shows. Others are "Category Awards," given in recognition of particular facets (Design, Directing, etc.) that stand out above the everyday standard Off-Off-Broadway. Everyone involved in each show, regardless of whether it is a Favorite Show or Category Award, will receive a personalized certificate, suitable for framing (the names of the recipients are under the links from each title). There are also a couple of awards to theatre companies, the principals of which will receive certificates.

Dress Code

There is no dress code at the OOBR Awards, but this year I'd like to encourage the flamboyant, the elegant, the exuberant. Only grunge is not especially appreciated, but you can dress as you like.
